The first release of FIFA 23 World Cup Icon items are here and, as promised, have some jaw-dropping overall stats to boost your FUT23 squads to the next level.
Despite the constant controversy overshadowing the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the action on the pitch has still taken centre stage. It has been far from disappointing, with many upsets taking place throughout the group stages.
As the group stages draw to a close, we approach the nail-biting knockout phase starting on December 3.
What are FIFA World Cup Icons?
FIFA World Cup Icon items are players who have permanently written their names in football history books.
These items are strictly for campaign use and are similar to the campaign heroes. It is another one of the new features installed by EA in their World Cup 2022 promo. These World Cup Icons became available on Friday past and are now live.

These newly released items will also replace a player’s base and mid versions. However, you must also bare in mind some of these special Icon promo items of FIFA may only be available as Squad Building Cards (SBC) or Objective rewards, hence their use for the FUT23 campaign mode.
Similar to Campaign Heroes, FIFA World Cup™ ICONs will replace their Base & Mid version while available in packs. Some FIFA World Cup™ ICONs may only be available as Player SBC or Objectives rewards.
Campaign ICONs that are available in Packs may have that version released in Squad Building Challenges as an ICON SBC at least 2 months after they are first made available. For example, FIFA World Cup ICON Bobby Moore may receive an SBC starting January 25th.

These are just a few players who could be available after the next World Cup Icons release. There have been no dates released for the next update though.
