Dying Light: The Beast started as a DLC for Dying Light 2 but became its own thing as development continued. Techland gave us a new look at the Summer Game Fest and a lengthy walkthrough to show its general gameplay loop and new abilities of the returning character, Kyle Crane.

Dying Light The Beast Pre-Order Bonus
If you pre-order Dying Light: The Beast, you will receive the Hero of Harran Bundle, which includes the following items:
- Ultimate Survivor Outfit
- Harran Combat Knife (+ Upgradable Blueprint)
- The Follower Crossbow (+ Upgradable Blueprint)
- In Jade’s Memory Pistol (+ Upgradable Blueprint)
- Castor Woods Patrol
No matter which edition you purchase, there is a decent amount of content here, including three weapons, an outfit, and a vehicle. That’s a decent amount of content, though, considering how much stuff you get to craft in Dying Light, I bet a lot of this will become useless after a few hours. The upgradable blueprint might be a solution to that if you really like the items.

Additionally, if you purchased the ultimate edition of Dying Light 2, you will receive Dying Light: The Beast at no additional cost. This is a pretty awesome bonus, especially considering that The Beast is a full game now. It will automatically appear in your library as soon as it launches.
Dying Light The Beast Deluxe Edition
While the regular edition costs $60, if you’re a huge fan of the series, especially the original Dying Light, then the deluxe edition has a few decent offerings for the extra $10. The deluxe edition of Dying Light: The Beast includes the following additional content:

Dying Light The Beast Release Date
Dying Light: The Beast is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X on August 22, 2025. It is also coming to PS4 and PS5 later this year.
Dying Light: The Beast is shaping up to be the true sequel to the original release, and I’m excited to see where the story takes Kyle Crane.
