Splitgate 2 is the sequel to the portal-themed first-person shooter from 1047 Games that aims to build on the ideas of the original release at a much larger scale. This means that this time around, there are actual characters and worldbuilding that make the world of Splitgate into a believable setting. However, with the inclusion of all this, does Splitgate 2 have a single-player campaign? Here’s what you need to know.
Does Splitgate 2 Have a Single-Player Campaign?
Despite the “Singleplayer” tag on Steam, Splitgate 2 does not have a campaign.
This was confirmed on the official Splitgate 2 FAQ of the title. Here is the relevant question directly answered by the team.
The companion app gives a first look at the world of Splitgate 2 with comic books, collectible cards, and a deeper look at the available factions.
Apart from that, CEO of 1047 Games, Ian Proulx, confirmed in a PlayStation Blogpost that the team hired a narrative designer to create the universe for Splitgate even though it doesn’t have a traditional campaign, and it’s still a strictly multiplayer title.
Splitgate 2 is clearly a step up in production values, and its announcement came with a cinematic trailer that showcased characters, the overall aesthetic, and parts of the world they’re creating to build the multiplayer element around.
Splitgate 2 is coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, and the PS5 next year in 2025. Even though it doesn’t have a campaign, at least it has crossplay support.
