Does Persona 5 Tactica Have Romance? – Explained

Can love really bloom on the battlefield?

The Persona series has always dealt with the topic of Romance, allowing you to date a variety of your teammates. But do you need to worry about shuffling tactical gameplay alongside romance, akin to recent Fire Emblem titles, in Persona 5 Tactica?

If you’re hoping to once again woo Makoto Niijima with your smooth moves and even smoother talking skills, you may be disappointed to learn that there are no romance features available in the game. There are a few instances where the topic of romance will come up in conversation, with similarly humorous cutscenes playing afterward, but there is no budding romance on the battlefield here.

As mentioned above, throughout the campaign, you’ll get asked some questions about “who you would marry” and questions of the sort. You’ll receive a short cutscene that plays out the hypothetical question, and then the story will continue moving forward. You’ll find these types of interactions under the “Talk” menu, where you’ll get the chance to converse with your teammates.

Much like Social Links, there may already be a preconceived notion of who the main character has begun dating, especially if you’ve played through Persona 5 or Persona 5 Royale. It may just feel counterintuitive to include things like this once again in this new addition to the continued storyline of the Phantom Thieves.

There are some little hints during the story mode that lean in the direction of a budding romance between two particular characters, but it seems that romance is dead beyond that point. It’s a bit of a shame, but the exciting tactical gameplay takes center stage here over the possibility of landing a date with one of the other Phantom Thieves.

We’ve got plenty of helpful tips and tricks, alongside some extra information about the game to ensure you’re ready for anything that comes your way.
