When Cyberpunk 2077 first launched, it was almost a running joke about how the game performed and played. However, after three years, the team at CD Projekt Red has done the impossible and turned Cyberpunk 2077 into one of the best games of the year. With the release of the 2.0 update, a variety of gameplay issues, graphical glitches, and overall issues have been ironed out, turning CP2077 into the game it deserved to be from the start. However, does this mean that the Steam Deck is going to be left in the dust now that the game is more graphically impressive than ever before?
Can You Still Play Cyberpunk 2077 On Steam Deck After 2.0 Update?
While Cyberpunk 2077 has always been a hoot to play on the go, the chance to take this graphically enhanced version for a spin on current-gen hardware shows off the beauty that has always lied within. Since this new update is only coming to the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, the previous generation hardware will still be left in the dust. What does this have to do with the Steam Deck, however?
Well, since the Steam Deck is more in line performance-wise with the 8th generation of consoles, you may expect that this new update is not going to work as well on the handheld, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it does still work, especially if you do some graphical tweaking. Set your graphical preset to Low and use FSR 2.1 to enhance the visuals while locking the FPS to 40 in the Steam Overlay, and you’ll be in for the time of your life.
While you may not get to experience all of the updated graphical flourishes on the portable powerhouse, the ability to take a game of this scale and size on the go is still breathtaking. No matter if you’re playing on the biggest rig possible or jumping back into Night City on the 7-inch screen, you’ll need to be ready for anything that this game can throw your way.
