What better way to survive in the wild, tame dinosaurs, and uncover secrets of the land than by playing with friends on your favorite gaming platform? Let’s discuss whether ARK: Survival Ascended has crossplay and cross-platform support.
Does ARK: Survival Ascended Have Crossplay?
Yes, ARK: Survival Ascended will feature crossplay once the game is officially released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, Studio Wildcard has temporarily disabled crossplay between Steam and consoles until PC issues improve and the game enters a quicker certification process.
According to a post from Studio Wildcard on the official ARK forums, ARK: Survival Ascended was initially intended to launch in late October on PC and current-gen consoles. However, major multiplayer issues pushed the console version release date to November 2023, with the PC version currently available on Steam.
In other words, once ARK: Survival Ascended releases on consoles, a new set of official servers will launch, alongside full support for crossplay, if things go as planned.
Does ARK: Survival Ascended Support Cross-Platform Progression?
Alongside crossplay, ARK: Survival Ascended will also support cross-platform progression and modding, allowing you to use mods regardless of your platform. In Survival Evolved, PC players can mod without issues, while those on consoles primarily had the base game and DLCs. With this remaster, you can now create mods on PC and use them on PS and Xbox players.
Furthermore, you can save and transfer your progress between consoles, ensuring you won’t have to start over if you swap to a different platform.
ARK: Survival Ascended is available on PC starting October 25, 2023, and will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in November 2023.
