Whether you are taking on some tough overworld content or you have another Nightmare Dungeon to take down, you have likely encounter the infuriating Suppressor Affix in Diablo 4. This giant purple shield is common in higher-tier content, and in this guide, I’ll give you a full rundown of what exactly the Affix does.
What is the Suppressor Affix in Diablo 4?
The Suppressor Affix gives Elite enemies a massive purple shield that covers them like a dome. This purple bubble blocks any and all ranged attacks. So if you want to deal any damage, you have to be right on top of the Elite using the Affix in Diablo 4. For someone like me who uses the Twisting Blades Rogue, these enemies can be a Nightmare, but there are some key mechanics to remember.
Unlike some of the other Affixes in Diablo 4, there is no timer on the Suppressor Affix. That means if an Elite enemy has the giant purple bubble around them, there is no waiting for it to disappear. Your only option is to start a close-quarters fight. The good news is that you can freely pass through the barrier. It’s only ranged attacks that are off-limits.

Your only option when you encounter these enemies is to dish out as much burst damage as possible. I recommend waiting until all of your cooldowns are ready for use and then entering the shield. You want to make sure that you are in and out of the Suppressor Affix before surrounding enemies can tear you apart.
Another option is to read your Nightmare Sigil Affixes and simply avoid taking on the Suppressor Affix-based dungeons. It really all depends on what your build excels at and what the weaknesses are.
