There are multiple weapon types in Diablo 4 that you can use to take apart the legions of enemies occupying Sanctuary, and the bow is certainly one of the most fun options. However, equipping weapons can be confusing due to the class system within the game, so I’m here to explain how you can use bows without any issues. Here’s how to equip and use a bow in Diablo 4.
How to Equip and Use Bows in Diablo 4
To use a bow, you must get a Rogue to level 2 in Diablo 4. Only rogues can make use of the physical damage-based ranged weapons, along with daggers. Other classes, like the Barbarian, can use swords or dual-wield equipment, but the bow is not an option. Despite all the arsenal or expertise selections, only the Rogue can roleplay as Legolas.
When you create a Rogue, you will start with daggers as weapons, so you need to either purchase a bow or find one by looting new areas. Even after you find a bow, you still need to equip a skill that utilizes a bow. Only then can you take the bow out instead of the daggers, which are the default options.

I personally like using the bow for the speed and the style it gives my Rogue, but there are also crossbows you can use in Diablo 4. These crossbows tend to hit harder at the cost of some speed. Which one you choose is really up to personal preference, and they fill the same slot in the ranged slot for the Rogue, so don’t sweat the choice too much.
For those of you who decided you wanted to use a Barbarian, you might not be able to use a bow in Diablo 4, but you can still swap your weapons. Check out my guide on how to change the Arsenal Selection so your options are open.
