Diablo 4 provides several ways to pick up the main story and side missions as you explore Sanctuary. The Secret of the Spring is a surprisingly difficult quest: It is hard to find, and completing it is also challenging. Diablo 4: How to Solve the Secret of the Spring Quest Riddle
To start the Secret of the Spring quest, travel north of Kyovashad until you reach Kylsik Plateau. On a mountain ledge, just below the Forsaken Quarry dungeon, you will find a note on the ground indicating the start of the mission. Reading it reveals the following passage:
“Beacon of warmth in winter’s embrace, patience rewarded by nature’s own grace.”
After you read the note, you will see a small blue circle northeast of this spot on your map. Go here to find a pool of water. The tricky part here is figuring out what to do once you arrive at the pool of water. However, the secret is in the riddle: You will have to be patient.

More specifically, you must use the Wait emote to show patience. The exact steps to equip the emote and finish the quest are as follows:
- Press E on your keyboard or the up arrow on your controller. You will see an emote wheel and customize button appear.
- Enter the customization menu and scroll through until you see the Wait emote.
- Equip Wait onto the wheel, save your changes and use it while standing next to the pool of water to reveal a treasure chest.
Opening the buried chest reveals some treasure, marking the end of the Secret of the Spring quest in Diablo 4!
