With the Dawning about to close up shop in Destiny 2, Guardians are starting to turn to the next big thing. Well, by the next big thing, we mean the next big Exotic. Here, the Devil’s Ruin Destiny 2 Exotic sidearm takes priority in what we reckon is one of the easier quest chains to complete right now. Check out our guide on the various steps in this Exotic questline and what our tips are.
Devil’s Ruin Destiny 2 Guide – A Lost Relic Exotic Quest
First and foremost, you might want to get your hands on the Devil’s Ruin because you fancy, well, firing your lasers. This sidearm has the special characteristic Close the Gap – this allows you to fire the weapon in more than one way: as per normal, or to a held-down charge which shoots out a laser. This laser will stagger enemies, and is good against Unstoppable Champions.
Now, you might be slightly more interested in picking up Devil’s Ruin. However, to get this Exotic will require a number of steps. We’ll go through each one below and outline our tips on how to plow through them quicker:
- Kill Champions in the Sundial – This is what you ostensibly have to do to start questline to obtain Devil’s Ruin, but the reality is that you just have to queue and finish a Sundial run. Upon doing so, you’ll be able to then access the A Lost Relic quest.
- Find 10 Timelost Fragments – Once you’ve kicked off the quest, you’ll be asked to find Timelost Fragments in the Twilight Gap. This is pretty easy to do, and you can just kick around the area until you get them – no sleuthing, tricky navigating, or enemy slaughtering necessary to do it. Find 10 and you’ll be good to go.
- Get Devil’s Ruin – Yeah, well, uh, that’s basically it. Hand in the 10 Timelost Fragments at the end of it and then you’ll just be able to receive the Devil’s Ruin at the conclusion of the quest. You’re welcome?
The cool thing about the A Lost Relic Exotic quest is while you’re gunning around trying to get those Timelost Fragments, you’ll be privy to a group chat between Shaxx, Osiris, and Saint-14. It’s a cool look at the rapport between them, and a chance to listen to idle bants about the Crucible. We enjoyed taking a break from Exotic quests that have 12 steps worth of murdering things, so if you’re looking for an easy, breezy, beautiful solution to that tedium then you might want to pick up the Devil’s Ruin Destiny 2 sidearm.
