In order to get the Chaperone, however, you’re going to have to meet a few other prerequisites. First, you’ll need to complete the main storyline for The Taken King. Then, you will need to make sure you have the Last Word hand cannon. The easiest way to get it is to buy it from Xur, if you can manage to nab it one of the few times he has it available. The third requirement is to reach Crucible Rank 3, and be over Light Level 290.

Once you meet all the requirements the Chaperon quest will begin with the Jolly Holliday Questline, which can be obtained from Amanda Holliday. Your first task is to get kills in the Crucible with the Last Word equipped. Players aren’t required to use the hand cannon to get the kills, however, they will need to have it equipped for the kills to count. Each kill will bring you 1% closer to completing the task, and try not to die too much during the process, as deaths will cost you a small percentage of progress.

With the first task out of the way, return to Amanda to pick up the next quest, which requires you to pay the Cryptarch 15,000 Glimmer. If you’re having trouble making this hefty donation, head out to your favorite planet and run the Patrol missions around the planet. This is a quick and easy way to rack up some easy Glimmer and get things done quickly.

After the Cryptarch has been paid, head back to Amanda and pick up the Buckshot Bruiser questline. This will task the player will getting kills with shotguns in either PVP or PVE situations. We suggest using a shotgun like the Universal Remote to pull off some easy kills and heading into the Crucible, or heading to Earth and farming the Major and Ultra Fallen that spawn there. Each kill nets you 6% towards the task, so get those kills in quickly to move on.

The last big hoorah of the questline tasks players with heading into the Shield Brothers strike, where they will need to take out the two Cabal brothers using shotguns. You don’t have to only use shotguns here;however, you will need to get the kills using a shotgun. From here all you will need to do is wait until the Weekly Reset, which happens every Tuesday morning, and then you’ll have your Chaperone.

That is how you get the Chaperone Exotic Shotgun. If you follow these steps you shouldn’t run into many problems. Remember, to be patient when going for kills with the Last Word, and maximize your shotgun kills by going after Majors or Ultras on Earth. We’ll be covering Destiny extensively in the weeks to come, so make sure you check back often for new tips, guides, and walkthroughs.
