The first thing you need to do is head into the game and launch your chosen Guardian. Once you’ve loaded into Orbit, head into the game’s world Directory, and locate the Crucible option. It can be found near the upper right hand corner of the screen. Click on the Crucible icon to open up the game’s PVP oriented options, including a screen that lists each and every game mode available to PVP players.

To continue from here, locate the icon that can be found just below the middle list of game types. This is the Private Match launcher. Once you click that icon you will be shown a screen similar to the orbit screen. In the bottom right hand corner, you will be able to launch your very own private match. However, if you would like to change any options for the match, including the destination and game mode, you will want to take a look at the buttons available in the bottom left of the screen.

Choosing Set Destination will take you back to the Director, where you can choose to head into other PVP modes, or into PVE events and other activities like raids or strikes. Choosing the Game Options button will launch an advanced settings area for you to change the Game Type, Map, Score Limit, Time Limit, and whether Light Level affects the match or not. Depending on the map you have chosen, you can also choose the time of day in which the match will take place.

Once you have your settings chosen, and have invited all of your friends, it is time to jump in and start having fun. You can also head into maps by yourself, which will allow you to explore them, learn new attack routes, and dive deep into the environment to learn more about the level design and hard work put into these maps by the developers. We’ll be covering Destiny extensively throughout the coming weeks as we head into the game’s newest expansion, Rise of Iron. Be sure to check back for detailed walkthroughs, guides, tips, and more. Destiny: Rise of Iron will release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 systems September 20.
