Destiny: Best Heavy Weapons to Hold onto for Rise of Iron

These three Heavy Weapons will help with all your heavy lifting in Rise of Iron.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is just a few days away, and that means it’s time to start preparing your final push. Last year The Taken King added a slew of new guns and content to the game, but which ones should you worry about holding onto? To help you figure that out we have sorted through the list and found the three best Heavy Weapons to keep for Rise of Iron. Let’s get started

Truth

This outstanding Rocket Launcher has been one of the best Heavy Weapons for a long time. Favored by Crucible players, and use extensively in the Trials of Osiris PVP event, Truth is one of the greatest Rocket Launchers that Guardians have ever had access to. This weapon’s main perks like Prototype Trueseeker, allow for it to aggressively track enemies and explode based on proximity, allowing Guardians to make use of this launchers full explosive potential. Of course, it is an Exotic Weapon, so you won’t be able to equip your favorite Exotic Primary or Special weapon, so be sure you have the ideal setup before heading out with this equipped.

Sleeper Simulant

Revealed before The Taken King released, and sought after by Guardians around the galaxy, the Sleeper Simulant is a fantastic Fusion Rifle Heavy Weapon that works as a powerful railgun. It took the community weeks to find the Sleeper Simulant quest, The First Firewall, but once players knew how, the knowledge spread like wildfire, and soon after, the galaxy was stuffed with new Sleeper Simulant owners. This weapon blasts through enemies no matter what activity you’re thinking about doing. Want to raid? Bring it along. Looking to own the Crucible? Don’t forget your Sleeper Simulant. Want to run the Nightfall with your pals? You know the drill. No matter what you want to accomplish, this Heavy Weapon will help you do it.

Dreadfang Sword

When Destiny: The Taken King introduced swords as Heavy Weapons, the Guardian community went wild. This was something that fans had been begging for since they’d first played through The Sword of Crota and got to use one for the first time. This was a dream come true. Of course, all the Legendary Elemental swords are great, and the Exotic ones are even better, but last April’s update brought a new sword, the Dreadfang. Now players could use this extremely powerful weapon to deliver death to their enemies, and they didn’t even have to choose which one they want to use. The Dreadfang is everything good about the swords available to Destiny players and then some. Make sure to grab it and hold onto it for Rise of Iron.

Of course, these aren’t all the Heavy Weapons available to Guardians in Destiny: The Taken King, but they are some of the best. We’ll be covering Destiny pretty extensively over the coming weeks. So, be sure to check back often for new guides, walkthroughs, and tips as we head into Rise of Iron. The new expansion pack will release on September 20, and will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
