Destiny 2: When is the Weekly Reset?

The magic happens on Tuesdays.

In persistent online games, from massively multiplayer RPGs to shooters and battle royales, you’re likely going to run into content cycles. The developers of these games want you to keep playing, and unfortunately one of the most realistic ways to do that is giving you tasks that refresh on a timer. In the case of Destiny 2, a number of available options revolve around the weekly reset, which is when various repeatable tasks are refreshed. It’s also when Bungie typically rolls out content updates, to keep everything running smoothly.

When is the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset?

Even when an update happens and Bungie has to turn the servers into maintenance mode for a while, it tries to keep to the same, regular weekly reset time. Extenuating circumstances can make for exceptions, but generally speaking Bungie tries to fit maintenance periods into the hours before the reset. But even without an update, if you’re regularly doing things like running Raids, earning Crucible rewards, and completing challenges, you’re going to want to know when the weekly reset happens.

Destiny 2’s servers are run on Pacific time, which you’re going to see with most games because of the whole California thing. But generally you’ll see any times for happenings in Destiny 2 listed in PT, and that’ll be relevant too for things like Daylight Savings Time. Either way, here’s a list of time zones when the normal Destiny 2 weekly reset takes place:

  • US ET: 1:00 PM
  • US PT: 10:00 AM
  • UK: 6:00 PM
  • EU: 7:00 PM

The weekly reset always happens on Tuesdays, so if you’re the type to build your routine around your game resets, you’ll want to at least commit the “Tuesday” part to memory. Every task that has limited rewards or availability will go back to “full” on Tuesdays, and of course what exactly that includes can vary based on what the current content in the game is. With Destiny 2 approaching its next major expansion in November 2020, the current status quo is only good for a few more months.
