Destiny 2 The Solstice Begins Quest Guide

How to get the summertime shindig started.
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information

Summertime is almost over, but for some games it’s barely getting started. That’s the case with Destiny 2, which just saw the launch of its 2020 summertime event, Solstice of Heroes. This event has a series of rewards based around completing tasks in the EAZ and upgrading new sets of armor all the way up to a “Magnificent” glow. But how does the event start, and how do you get the armor in the first place? You have to complete the Solstice Begins quest.

How to Complete The Solstice Begins Quest in Destiny 2

To kick off The Solstice Begins quest, you’ll need to activate it by talking to Eva Levante in the Tower. Once you start the quest Eva will give you the new armor set’s helmet, which kicks off the event all official-like. Make sure you equip the helmet (and subsequent armor) in order to progress. After that you’ll be directed to complete a run in the EAZ, which will introduce you to the other event component, Solstice Packages. Return to Eva afterward and she’s give you the Drained armor.

Take the Drained armor over to the Solstice of Heroes statue, which you can’t miss because it’s right by Eva. Interact with the statue and it will turn the Drained armor into Renewed armor, and you’ll be able to equip the set. Talk to Eva once again, and you’ll officially complete the Solstice Begins quest. You’ll then receive the Solstice of Heroes 2020 questline, which is where you’ll be spending your time completing tasks to upgrade the new armor.

Getting through all the upgrades is all about grinding, as getting the armor up through all three upgrade tiers involves making a lot of numbers go up. You’ll be making EAZ runs, doing several Strikes and matches of Crucible and Gambit, and a whole lot more. Luckily we’ve already outlined all those tasks in our Solstice of Heroes 2020 armor upgrade guide, which you can check out over in our Destiny 2 game hub.

Are you ready to roll in the Solstice of Heroes 2020 event? Have you already made a lot of progress by now, or are you just getting started? Let us know how your summertime is going in Destiny 2 over at the Prima Games Facebook and Twitter channels!
