How to Get Altered Element in Destiny 2

Players can begin farming and collecting Altered Element as soon as they begin the Season of Arrivals update, but it won’t really come in handy until they have reached Rank 32 on the season’s pass. This will allow them to use Altered Elements with Umbral Engrams to turn them into specific rewards. However, it’d be good to go ahead and start collecting it now, so when you reach the appropriate level, you’ll have some on hand.

There are a couple of different ways to farm Altered Element in Destiny 2, but the easiest way will be to complete all four of the daily challenges from the Prismatic Recaster. Each challenge will offer 25 Altered Element, so players can earn up to 100 a day simply by completing the challenges. If this is done daily, players should have more than enough of the new currency to get some awesome upgrades. However, while this is the most lucrative way to earn Altered Element, it isn’t the only way. In the list below, we’ve detailed a couple of different ways to get Altered Element in Destiny 2.

  • Complete Daily Challenges from the Prismatic Recaster
  • Complete Strikes (Nightfall: The Ordeal)
  • Play Crucible or Gambit
  • Complete and Claim Triumphs

As you can see, there are a couple of different options here, but it seems that completing daily challenges will be the easiest and most rewarding. However, you should be able to collect a little bit of extra Altered Element by playing naturally through the other methods listed above.

The Destiny 2 Beyond Light expansion will begin on September 22, 2020 and will be followed by The Witch Queen expansion in 2021 and the Lightfall expansion in 2022. Bungie has revealed that it has no plans to develop a Destiny 3 in the near future and has committed to cross-generational play. So it seems like Destiny fans will have a lot to look forward to in the next few years.
