Destiny 2: How to Complete the Total Victory Challenge in Crown of Sorrow

by Liana Ruppert

Many Destiny 2 players are currently focused on getting the stunning new Lumina hand cannon but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t time for taking on a new clan raid challenge in the Crown of Sorrow also! This week’s raid challenge is Total Victory which focuses on Gahlran’s Deception in this particular raid. For those looking to take this particular aspect of Destiny 2 on, here’s how to complete the Total Victory challenge.

How to complete the Total Victory Challenge in Destiny 2

First things first: Clan ranking. In order to take on this particular challenge, players must have a clan level of 4 or higher in order for the challenge to even show up in-game. If those requirements are meant, Total Victory can be picked up at the Tower from Hawthrone ahead of beginning the Crown of Sorrows raid. Running the raid is key in order to jump into Gahlran’s Deception, but once there the challenge can begin.

Raid teams must break the shield of Gahlran’s Deception a total of five times in a single damage phase, which also puts a requirement on one-phasing the boss in addition to the shield. As with any high-level event, going in with the perfect loadout is key. High damage and a variation of weapons will be crucial for all party members. Oh, and grenade launchers are an absolute must!

A lot of players have been mentioning that the Anarchy Exotic grenade launcher is the best weapon for this task, a gun that could only be scooped up during the Scourge of the Past raid. At least one party member should have this weapon equipped, but definitely wouldn’t say no to more than one player having it in their arsenal. Also, make sure that those equipped with this weapon have the Blessing.

With each fired round, the Blessing will also be targeted towards the boss, and its shield, making that five-hit goal obtainable in one single phase.

If you don’t have the Anarchy, that’s fine! That being said, five players need to have the Blessing and will need to be a bit more strategic in how they take on the shield. Word to the wise: Don’t group up! If too many players are close to the boss, the shield will trigger and cause players to lose their Blessing, which ultimately will spell out failure for this particular challenge.

Get this challenge done and you’re closer than ever to both the Shadow seal and title.
