Destiny 2 Community Challenge Rewards Guide

The first Challenge Reward that was earned was the Mars Community Challenge emblem. This would only be obtained by the community if a Nightfall was completed, and if all the objectives required were completed. As long as Guardians have personally completed at least one Nightfall strike during the community challenge’s duration, then they will be eligible to receive this emblem. It’ll likely be available for pickup very soon.

The second reward is a little more involved: essentially, duking it out in Menagerie content is going to give Guardians extra drops until the end of the Season of Opulence. What will happen each week is that the number of obtainable Menagerie rewards will increase by one. How that works is probably going to go something like this:

  • The week the Challenge ends: 2 available Menagerie rewards
  • 1 week after the Challenge ends: 3 available Menagerie rewards
  • 2 weeks after the Challenge ends: 4 available Menagerie rewards
  • 3 weeks after the Challenge ends: 5 available Menagerie rewards

It’s nice to see that the Destiny 2 Community Challenge managed to get all the Guardians together to cooperate, especially considering the timeframe that we had and the sheer number of Hive enemies that had to be put down. It’ll be interesting to observe what Bungie’s future plans are for other similar events; the challenge has been referred to as the September community challenge, so it’s possible that these will be recurring events that come around every month, potentially themed around different enemies and planets.
