Destiny 2 Community Challenge Guide

by Ginny Woo

If you’re looking for something to do and you’re tired of mopping up content from the Season of Opulence, then you’re in luck. Bungie’s weekly blog has just announced a special, week-long challenge for Guardians to undertake on Mars, and it’s all about getting your head in the game. Want to know what to do so you can be a contributing member of the community? Our Destiny 2 Community Challenge guide has everything you need to start prepping for this mammoth co-operative task.

Destiny 2 Community Challenge Guide — When Does It Start

So the Destiny 2 Community Challenge will kick off on September 3 at 10:00am PDT, and it’ll end exactly a week later on September 10 at 10:00am PDT. Bungie was true to their word: you’ll have seven days to get all the hustling done with the rest of the community, and to meet the participation targets that are being set for the event.

Destiny 2 Community Challenge Guide — What Is it

The Destiny 2 Community Challenge is essentially something for all Guardians to work towards on Mars. The most important thing to note at this time is that these participation goals aren’t meant to be achieved individually — they’re contingent on the whole community coming together on Mars to eliminate certain priority targets. These challenges will span the entire playerbase, which means that the platform that you choose to assist from is largely irrelevant.

The different parameters for the Community Challenge are as follows:

  • Kill 300,000,000 Hive enemies
  • Use 300,000 Override Frequencies
  • Kill 175,000 Wave 7 Escalation Protocol bosses
  • Finish Mars Nightfalls — defeat Xol 100,000 times and defeat Nokris 150,000 times

Now that you have our Destiny 2 Community Challenge guide to hand, completing these challenges on Mars with the rest of the playerbase should be easy enough for you to do. A week might not seem like a lot of time for you all to take care of all those priority targets outlined by Bungie, but considering the fact that the entire community’s going to be onboard, we reckon that teamwork is gonna work in our favour this time.
