Is Dauntless cross platform on PC, PS4, and Xbox One?

Trying to find out if you can play with your friends no matter where they are? Let us help.
This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Dauntless is an action based co-op game that has you hunting gigantic monsters called Behemoths. It is a huge free-to-play game that has you trying to defend a town from a constant onslaught of beasts of all shapes and sizes armed with your wits, and huge weapons. It has finally emerged from Early Access as a full-fledged title. As a result, it is no longer just on Steam but has come to the Epic Store, PS4, and Xbox One. If you haven’t played it on Steam already then now is a great time to jump in and join the hunt. However, as is the case with many cross-platform games, you may be wondering if you have to use the same platform as your friends to play with them.

Is Dauntless Cross Platform?

It would be no surprise at all to find out that the console owners have decided against allowing cross-platform multiplayer with Dauntless. It is, unfortunately, the norm when it comes to games like this. It is a sad fact that most of the time you are expected to play on the same platform as your buddies.

In this instance though, there is good news. You can play along with your friends no matter where you choose to play and where they choose to. The Dauntless site makes it very clear that they want you to be able to play with everyone wherever they are. This is a wonderful change of pace and we can all hope that it is something that more games will be doing going forward.
