Code Vein II is out now on PC and consoles if you pre-ordered one of the deluxe editions, thanks to advanced access. It’s a sequel that’s much larger in scope, but the PC port isn’t exactly in the best shape, at the moment.

That said, if you’re looking for your local progress data, here is the save file location for Code Vein II.

Code Vein II Save File Location

ClientSave File Location
SteamC:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Local\CodeVein2\Saved\SaveGames

As always with Unreal Engine titles, you can find the save files (in the .sav format) inside the SaveGames folder in the dedicated folder for the game. To avoid any confusion for future use, I recommend copying the entire CodeVein2 folder for easier use.

You can access the same directory by entering the following address in Windows Explorer or Windows Run:

%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/CodeVein2/Saved/SaveGames

Code Vein II Save Slots

Code Vein II has over 64 available save slots, so you can expect to create a lot of unique characters. There is also a demo available on Steam, which features the character creator, and your progress will be carried over to the main game if you choose to purchase it.

Code Vein II Steam Features

On Steam, Code Vein II uses several client features to provide a solid PC experience, including the following:

  • Steam Cloud: Your saved data is automatically uploaded to the Steam Cloud once you’ve closed the game and downloaded it on different devices before you launch it there.
  • Steam Family Sharing: If you own a copy of Code Vein II, members of your Steam family can access it in their libraries.
  • Steam Input: While the game has native support for multiple controllers, you can always use Steam Input to get third-party controllers to work without much trouble.
  • Steam Trading Cards: You will earn trading cards for Code Vein II while playing it. These can be sold on the marketplace or used to craft badges.
