Obtaining Zygarde and then upgrading it to its Complete Forme is no easy feat. It will take trainers a long time to travel enough Routes on foot to collect Zygarde Cells, which is used to upgrade Zygarde. The Complete Forme needs 200 Zygarde Cells in total to change forms. But, when you’ve finally finished the marathon, and your Complete Forme is registered in the PokeDex, you might not want to keep it in that form forever. Fortunately, it is now known whether or not you can revert Zygarde’s form in Pokemon GO.
How to Revert Zygarde’s Form in Pokemon GO
Some hardcore Pokemon GO players, such as Sensray on X (formally Twitter) have managed to already obtain the Complete Forme of Zygarde. This has given the community confirmation on whether it can be reverted, and how it is done. Fortunately, yes, Zygarde can be reverted to its previous forms at-will. Trainers will need the following to revert back to its 50% and 10% Formes. This will have to be done in order. So, if you have a Complete Forme, and want to get back to the 10% Forme, you will need to downgrade to the 50% first, then the 10%.
Currently, after reverting, the game states that you will need Zygarde Cells to upgrade the forms once again. It is not yet apparent if this is how it was designed or an oversight. So do not revert back unless you want to collect all of the Zygarde Cells once again.
Zygarde Form | Cost to Revert |
10% Forme | N/A |
50% Forme | • 2000 Stardust • 10 Zygarde Candy |
Complete Forme | • 2000 Stardust • 10 Zygarde Candy |
Having the option to revert Zygarde back to its previous forms is great. Because, objectively, the 10% dog form is the best. No one can deny how much of a good boy he is. It also gives you a lot more freedom when wanting to participate in certain aspects of the game, such as the numerous levels of the in-game Leagues. There’s only been a few people who have a Complete Forme Zygarde so far, and if you want to be one of them, you really ought to find some Routes in your local area, and complete them to collect Zygarde Cells!
