Can You Play The Rogue Prince of Persia On Steam Deck?

Yes, you can play The Rogue Prince of Persia on the Steam Deck, and it works right out of the box.

You don’t need to log in to Ubisoft Connect in desktop mode, nor do you have to worry about any anti-cheat software because this is a single-player experience.

However, currently, the game does suffer from stutter. These are most common during larger battles, and you’ll see dips to the higher 40s. I recommend capping the framerate using the Steam Deck’s utility to 40 or 45 FPS for now to get a more consistent experience.

Is The Rogue Prince of Persia Steam Deck Verified?

At the time of writing, The Rogue Prince of Persia is not Steam Deck verified, however, the developers have confirmed on Steam that they are working on approval as we speak.

Developers Evil Empire also confirmed that they will be optimizing the game further for the Steam Deck throughout the early access period.

We’re hopeful that the stutters are a priority here because a game with smooth traversal like this shouldn’t be hampered by instability.

While not officially on Steam yet, the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown runs beautifully on the Steam Deck through Ubisoft Connect and has solid performance throughout the entire experience. We had a brilliant time with The Lost Crown and had a lot to say in our lengthy review. It’s also getting some story DLC later in the year, and it’s a great time to be a Prince of Persia fan.
