Can You Play Nightingale Offline? – Answered

Soon at a game nearby you

While a big appeal of Survival games is enjoying them with friends, sometimes we just want to enjoy them for ourselves for a bit in an offline single-player mode. While Nightingale features a solo experience, can you jump on it without having the online status enforced onto you?

Is There an Offline Mode for Nightingale?

While the game currently doesn’t feature an offline mode, developers have ensured that this is their current priority. The game was released on February 20 on an Early Access build, but it requires being online at all times even when playing solo, which can cause a myriad of connection issues that shouldn’t been happening in the first place.

Inflexion Games decided to work on an Offline mode to prevent this from happening, and they announced their decision on the game’s official Discord server merely two days after the Early Access Period started. This is likely a direct response to the many network issues faced by players during the game’s release and the subsequent complaints about the necessity of being online at all times.

As per the announcement, they are now “prioritizing and developing an offline mode that we plan to release as soon as feasible”. During the same announcement, they admitted to having misjudged what the player base actually desired in their experience, and are now working to fix those issues.

And if you worry about actual new features, don’t worry. Following the initial announcement, another Inflexion member immediately assured that while the offline mode is a priority, they won’t stop working on new content, bug fixes, and other regular updates already planned for the game.

It’ll probably still take a few weeks until we see an actual update on either of these, considering how the game just recently came out, but it’s nice to see how they’re listening to feedback. You still can’t play it offline, but you can make your overall experience a bit better by enhancing your graphics to the best settings possible.
