Once you have acquired a code, you will need to redeem it to reap its benefits. Players can redeem a code by heading to the social tab in the title’s menu. All that you need to do from this point is to press the large S and enter your code.

Shift codes can also earn Borderlands 3 players other kinds of items in addition to gold keys, so it is always wise to redeem a code if you have a new one to spare.
