So, you’re cracking into Borderlands 3 and you’re looking ahead, like a proactive Vault Hunter. Honestly, staying alive in this apocalyptic galaxy hellscape requires initiative, so good on you. We applaud that. So, you might want to know what the max level is in the game, and what the Borderlands 3 Guardian Rank cap is so that you have something to aim for after that. Well, here you go.
Borderlands 3 Guardian Rank Cap – What We Know
Guardian Rank is basically something that you’re only going to crack into after you’ve clocked the main game, so if you’re tottering around with training wheels on Pandora at the moment or just working your way through the bosses in the main game, there’s no need to fret. For everyone else, Guardian Rank will be something that you can separate from your usual experience; it will be displayed as a different progress bar alongside your regular EXP bar.
In order to gain Guardian Rank EXP, you’ll have to be gunning through challenges, side quests, and pretty much run-of-the-mill activities in Borderlands 3. Each time you max it out, you’ll get a Guardian Token which will help you boost your stats.
The current Borderlands 3 regular level cap is 50, but that doesn’t affect your Guardian Rank. Essentially, there’s no actual cap on your Guardian Rank once you’re capped on regular levels because it’s just a vehicle to farm Guardian Tokens to improve your stats and to participate in the Guardian skill trees. You don’t get a numerical value cap with these – you get infinite chances to fill up your Guardian EXP bar and to earn Guardian Tokens to spend on yourself, even after you’ve filled out said skill trees.
When you spend those Guardian Tokens, you’ll be able to pick between three different sets of stat improvements:
- Enforcer – these will improve stats affecting direct damage
- Hunter – these will improve your combat-enhancing abilities
- Survivor – these will improve your defensive capabilities
Now that you know a little more about whether there’s a Borderlands 3 Guardian Rank cap, you can crack into the end-game with a bit more confidence about what those Guardian tokens are going towards.
