Best Sundelion Recipes in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)

Sundelion is a wild flower that grows in the sun at high altitudes, so it can be found on most of the islands on the Sky map. It is important to know that Sundelion by itself does not replenish health, but only removes the broken status on heart containers that are under the gloom effect. However, other regular foods that you mix in with the Sundelion can do the healing part.

Tip:

Use the Sensor+ to help you locate Sundelions. The sensor will ping whenever you’re near one of the flowers. The Sky Archipelagoes where you can partake in diving ceremonies to receive the Glider Armor are some of the best places to find an abundance of Sundelions.

Once you’re done flower-picking on the Sky Islands, you can use Sundelion flowers to make some of the following dishes for some Gloom Recovery super-food:

  • Cheesy Omelette: Sundelion or Mushroom x 1, Haleno Cheese x 1, Bird Egg x 1, Rock Salt x 1.
  • Cheesy Risotto: Sundelion or Fish or Mushroom x 1, Haleno Cheese x 1, Hylian Rice x 1, Rock Salt x 1.
  • Copious Fried Wild Greens: Sundelion x 4.
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup: Any Mushroom x 1, Sundelion x 1, Rock Salt x 1, Fresh Milk x 1.
  • Cream of Vegetable Soup: Sundelion x 1, Rock Salt x 1, Fresh Milk x 1.
  • Creamy Meat Soup: Any Meat x 1, Sundelion x 1, Rock Salt x 1, Fresh Milk x 1.
  • Creamy Seafood Soup: Any Fish x 1, Sundelion x 1, Rock Salt x 1, Fresh Milk x 1.
  • Fried Wild Greens: Sundelion x 1 or x 2.
  • Glazed Veggies: Sundelion x 1, Course Bee Honey x 1.
  • Herb Sauté: Sundelion x 1, Goron Spice x 1.
  • Salt-Grilled Greens: Sundelion x 1, Rock Salt x 1.
  • Steamed Fish: Sundelion x 1, Any Fish x 1.
  • Steamed Fruit: Sundelion x 1, Any Mushroom x 1.
  • Steamed Meat: Sundelion x 1, Any Meat x 1.
  • Steamed Mushrooms: Any Mushroom x 1, Sundelion x 1.
  • Steamed Tomatoes: Sundelion x 1, Hylian Tomato x 1.
  • Vegetable Omelet: Sundelion x 1, Bird Egg x 1, Goat Butter x 1, Rock Salt x 1.
  • Veggie Porridge: Sundelion x 1, Hylian Rice x 1, Fresh Milk x 1.
  • Veggie Rice Balls: Sundelion x 1, Hylian Rice x 1.

Basically, any dish that has “any plant” in its recipe can be made into a Gloom Recovery food by adding Sundelion. With this in mind, it’s pretty important to have this flower in your inventory because it mixes easily with practically any other ingredients, making it valuable for Depths exploration.

Gloom-borne Illness Quest: Sunny Veggie Porridge

If you’ve been to Kakariko Village, you may have picked up the Gloom-borne Illness quest while talking to the proprietress, Claree, in the Enchanted armor shop. Claree has raised prices through the roof thanks to her grandmother’s illness, and if you talk to her about it, she’ll send you to her sister Lasli nearby.

Lasli says porridge is the only thing her sick grandmother will eat, and she’ll give you a list of ingredients to make it. But what you really want is a special Sunny Veggie Porridge, which is really just porridge with a Sundelion thrown in.

To make Sunny Veggie Porridge, cook the following ingredients together in a pot:

  • Fresh Milk
  • Hylian Rice
  • Wild Greens / Any Herbs
  • Sundelion

Once you have your Sunny Veggie Porridge, have Lasli try it, and she’ll feed it to her ailing grandmother, Nanna, which will instantly revitalize her. And with Nanna fully recovered, Claree will significantly drop all of the prices in her shop.

That’s all for Sundelion recipes. For more Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom here on Prima Games check out where to find the Red Pillars, and find out if you can remove weapon durability.
