Best Starting Base Locations in Dune Awakening
Save hours of running by picking the right spot for your base!

Choosing your starting location in any survival-crafting game is always a big decision. If you choose the perfect spot, you could save yourself hours of tedium, and it may be even more important in Dune Awakening.
There are several key locations in the world of Arrakis, and some vast empty spaces that could gobble up your precious time. Here are some of the best places to build your base, so you don’t have to move your base and start over.
Best Base Locations in Dune Awakening
Starting Area – Hagga Basin South

The starting area offers easy access to the most commonly used materials throughout the game. If you are fond of building and designing bases, you’ll definitely want this spot for some easy access to Granite, Copper, and several common materials. You can also get other valuable mid-game items like Micro-Sandwich Fabrics from the caves, EMF Generators, and Fuel Cells.
Scavenger camps also give you easy access to blood and are quite easy to farm or eliminate. You can bring multiple Blood Sacks and fill them all up for your Blood Purifiers. There are also several plants for hydration, so this is the perfect starting area for everyone. You’ll eventually get a vehicle anyway, so other key locations should be easier to get to.
Griffin’s Reach Tradepost – Hagga Basin South

Griffin’s Reach Tradepost should be among the most highly contested spots for establishing a base. The place is close to the Tradepost, the central hub for your trainers, merchants, and the contract board.
You’ll always interact with these key NPCs, essentially making the Tradepost your second home. However, resources are pretty limited around the area, but you can still get a lot if you circle the area thoroughly. Just make sure to keep your suspensors up so you don’t take fall damage from all the cliffs since the Tradepost is basically at the top of the mountain.
Shipwreck – Hagga Basin South

The Shipwreck could be a great starting spot. It is far north of the Hagga Basin South starting area and east of the Griffin’s Reach Tradepost. You’ll eventually see a contract “Wrecking Crew” that gives you a quest in the area.
Several chests are inside the ship, and most players underestimate how useful the loot is inside the shipwreck. You’ll get Spice-Infused Copper Dust, Plasteel Microflora Fiber, Mechanical Parts, and, most of all, Solari currency. Some enemies keep respawning, so you’ll always get blood readily available.
If you have interacted with the merchant in Griffin’s Reach Tradepost, you’ll notice that the merchant sells several basic resources as well as other useful tools and even schematics. All of them will cost Solari, which you can get inside the shipwreck by opening all the chests and cases.
The resources inside those chests and cases respawn, so you can always drop by if your starting base is near the area.
The shipwreck is out in the open without much shade, so don’t build your base too close to it, or you’ll always feel parched because of the sun.
