Best Mods for The Witcher 3 Remastered
Check out the best mods to mix up your Witcher 3 Remastered experience
The Witcher 3 has had one of the most active modding communities in gaming for over a decade, and Remastered hasn’t slowed it down. More than 450 mods were newly released or updated within the first two days of the Remastered PC launch alone. Remastered runs on the newer 5.x branch, so a mod that worked with the old 1.32 release or the Next-Gen 4.04 version isn’t automatically compatible.
We’ve gone through the current Remastered selection and picked out some of the best mods available for combat, quality of life, visuals, cosmetics, and additional content.
Best Quality-of-Life and UI Mods
Brothers in Arms – Ultimate Edition
Brothers in Arms – Ultimate Edition is one of the easiest mods to recommend for almost any playthrough. The current Remastered release brings thousands of bug fixes, corrections, and restored pieces of content into the 5.x version of the game. The project restores dialogue, interactions, quest details, journal content, and other material that was cut or left inaccessible in the base game.

Most of its changes are subtle enough to just blend into the game instead of feeling like obvious additions, so it works well if you just want a more polished version of the original experience rather than a major overhaul.
Bug Fixed Fast Travel
Bug Fixed Fast Travel lets you fast travel to discovered signposts without physically standing next to one. More importantly, it blocks fast travel in several situations where teleporting away too early could prevent quest triggers from firing. It’s a much safer alternative to older unrestricted fast travel mods.
Cleaner Witcher Senses Outlines
Cleaner Witcher Senses Outlines replaces the blurry glow around objects detected with Witcher Senses with cleaner outlines. You can change the color, thickness, transparency, and style of the outlines, while also adjusting things like the Witcher Sense fisheye effect. Considering how often Witcher Senses are used, it’s a small change that becomes noticeable very quickly.

Ink and Iron – UI HUD
Ink and Iron – UI HUD redesigns a large portion of Remastered’s interface around a darker ink-style presentation. That includes the main menu, HUD, inventory, map, character screen, alchemy menus, and several other parts of the interface. It’s still in beta, but the current Remastered build is already one of the strongest full UI replacements available.

Mods Menu Pagination
Mods Menu Pagination becomes useful once your mod list starts getting out of hand. Remastered’s Mods menu has a display limit that can cause settings pages to stop appearing correctly when enough configurable mods are installed. Mods Menu Pagination splits the list into separate pages instead, making large setups much easier to manage.
Best Combat Mods for The Witcher 3 Remastered
Responsive Movement and Combat
Responsive Movement and Combat removes some of the small delays between your input and Geralt’s movement. Geralt stops sooner, responds more directly when changing direction, and transitions between certain sword attacks faster. There are also optional improvements for targeting, Roach, swimming, climbing, and Sign casting, so you can decide how far you want to take the changes.
Bestg’s Combat Stances Remastered
Bestg’s Combat Stances Remastered gives Geralt several switchable fighting styles rather than forcing every encounter through the same combat setup. The main stances change things like attack speed, damage, defense, dodging, Signs, and bombs. You can swap between them during combat using a controller or keyboard, and each stance can be further customized through the mod menu.

Best Cosmetic Mods
Dark Kaer Morhen Armor Remastered
Dark Kaer Morhen Armor Remastered gives Geralt’s starting Kaer Morhen armor a darker 4K retexture. Black leather, darker cloth, silver chainmail, and subtler detailing give the original armor a cleaner look without redesigning the set entirely.

Modular Eyes
Modular Eyes lets Geralt and other Witchers dynamically switch between different eye textures rather than being stuck with one permanent replacement. The Remastered release supports separate normal, alternate, and toxicity-related eye states, which also makes it a useful framework for other eye mods. You can, for example, set a glowing eye texture to appear only under particular conditions instead of having Geralt glow constantly.

New Hairstyles and Beards for Geralt
New Hairstyles and Beards for Geralt adds 19 hairstyles and 12 beard styles without replacing the existing ones. The mod received a Remastered update and gives you more control over Geralt’s appearance while still using designs that fit naturally into the game.

4K Beast Iris and Glowing Witcher Eyes
4K Beast Iris and Glowing Witcher Eyes gives Geralt much more striking Witcher eyes, with several different textures and glowing variants available. It’s especially good when paired with Modular Eyes, since that lets you use the glow as an alternate state rather than permanently changing Geralt’s appearance.

Swords on Hip – Remastered
Swords on Hip – Remastered moves Geralt’s swords from his back to his hip and includes multiple positioning options. It is especially useful if you’re also running cloak or hood mods, since back-mounted swords clip straight through them. The Remastered version also updates the system specifically for the 5.x release and includes support for Hoods.

Best Graphics and Immersion Mods for The Witcher 3 Remastered
The Living Continent
The Living Continent – Seasons, Sky, Weather is easily one of the most ambitious visual mods available for Remastered. It introduces changing seasons along with new skies, weather behavior, snow, wildflowers, wildlife effects, temperature, seasonal colors, and other environmental details. You can let the seasons progress naturally or lock the world to whichever look you prefer.

The mod currently requires DirectX 12 and ReShade with add-on support, so installation is slightly more complicated than a normal texture mod.
True Rain
True Rain rebuilds The Witcher 3’s rain effects using real-time refraction. Storms feel heavier and the rain itself has much more definition than the vanilla effect. It’s a relatively focused visual mod, but one that makes a large difference whenever bad weather rolls through.

Larger White Orchard
Larger White Orchard fixes one of the stranger visual quirks of the game’s opening region. White Orchard’s playable area is still the same size, but the mod extends the visible terrain beyond its borders. That makes the region look like part of a larger continuous landscape rather than a square patch of land surrounded by obvious world boundaries.

Fog of War
Fog of War hides unexplored portions of the world map and gradually reveals them as Geralt travels through each region. It’s recommended for a fresh playthrough because locations no longer feel completely mapped out before you’ve even visited them. For new players, it adds a lot more mystery to the world and exploration.

You can adjust the fog opacity and reveal radius if you want exploration to be more or less restrictive. We recommend starting a new save with this one, since the mod can’t retroactively know everywhere Geralt traveled before it was installed.
Best Content and Expansion Mods
Witcher’s Work – Procedurally Generated Contracts
Witcher’s Work gives Geralt more actual witcher work once you’ve exhausted the game’s normal monster contracts. New contracts periodically appear on notice boards throughout Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige. You pick up the notice, track down the monster, kill it, and collect the reward just like a regular contract.
Contract frequency, rewards, monster levels, and spawn distances can all be customized, but the default setup fits naturally into a normal playthrough.
Multi Companion Mod Remastered
Multi Companion Mod Remastered lets you build your own travelling party using characters from throughout the game. Ciri, Yennefer, Triss, Vesemir, Lambert, Eskel, Letho, Regis, Shani, and many other characters can travel and fight alongside Geralt. It also works as a sandbox tool for custom parties and battles that would never normally happen during the story. This version was rebuilt specifically for Remastered 5.x.

Corvo Bianco Guests Extended
Corvo Bianco Guests Extended makes Geralt’s vineyard feel a lot less empty after Blood and Wine. Ciri and Dandelion can visit and remain at Corvo Bianco alongside Geralt’s normal romance guest. They arrive through proper scenes, have dialogue, and follow daily routines around the estate instead of simply being spawned into the area.

How to Check if a Witcher 3 Mod Works With Remastered
Look for Remastered or 5.x Compatibility
Remastered is not the same game branch as the old Next-Gen release.
The main versions are:
- Classic: 1.32
- Next-Gen: 4.04
- Remastered: 5.00 and later 5.x versions
Before downloading anything, check the mod’s Files page, description, update date, and compatibility tags for a dedicated Remastered release. A mod saying Next-Gen compatible does not necessarily mean it works with Remastered.
Check When the Mod Was Last Updated
Remastered launched on September 29, 2026, so an update dated around or after that release is a good first indication that the author has revisited the mod. Read the description and recent posts before installing script-heavy mods, especially if they alter quests, combat, menus, or gameplay systems.
Nexus Mods and the Remastered Mod Menu Are Different
The mods listed above are primarily PC mods from Nexus Mods.
The Witcher 3 Remastered also has its own in-game mod support for curated mods distributed through the game’s newer mod ecosystem. Those are separate from a traditional Nexus setup, and you can learn about the basics of modding Witcher 3 Remastered from our guide.
For PC players, Nexus remains the place to find many of the larger gameplay, UI, visual, and scripting mods currently being rebuilt for Remastered.
