Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is one of the biggest releases of 2025 and a technical showcase of CryEngine. The PC version, in particular, is fantastic. And modders haven’t wasted a second to fine-tune the experience to their liking. If you’re not a fan of a particular in-game system, there’s a good chance a modder has already addressed it. Here are our picks for the best mods in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 so far.
Best Mods for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Mods in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 largely modify existing systems and effects, or speed up animations for activities. We will be updating this list with new additions and updates for existing mods.
Unlimited Saving II
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has a fairly strict saving system forcing players to use Saviour Schnapps. This mod addresses that specifically, allowing players to save at any point in the game with a shortcut (F5) an unlimited number of times. This essentially adds a Quick Save function that’s usually found in many other RPGs.

Instant Herb Picking II
There is a small animation that plays whenever Henry picks up herbs in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. While this is fun the first time, it can become a bit much when you’ve seen the same animation play out for the 50th time. This mod skips the animation entirely, letting players pick up herbs instantly instead.

Increased Carry Weight
Henry is a strong lad, but he can only carry so much weight on his shoulders, and pouches. When you’re encumbered, you won’t be able to sprint, fast-travel, or even mount your horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This can make small distances feel never-ending, especially when you don’t want to part with the loot you’re carrying.
This mod removes that restriction by increasing your carry weight by 2x, 3x, 5x, or Max (which is 600). You won’t need to worry about carrying all that extra armor anymore.

First Person Herb Picking II
Wait, do you actually like the herb-picking animation? Okay, why not experience it in a proper first-person perspective? Instead of switching to third-person, this mod keeps the animation in first-person. The only caveat is a brief fade to black at the end, but it’s still far more immersive than the camera suddenly shifting perspectives.

Reticle for Bows and Crossbows
While aiming a bow or crossbow is easier in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 than the first title, there’s still the lack of reticle on-screen. If you need the extra visual aid, this mod can be quite helpful.

Keep in mind that the reticle doesn’t add precision as arrows and bolts don’t exactly hit exactly where the reticle is visible on-screen.

Remove Fog of War
The in-game map of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is slowly revealed and populated as you head out and explore the lands of Bohemia.

A good portion of it is obscured by clouds, and if you aren’t a fan of that, this mod basically removes all those clouds, giving you a good look at the entire map.

If there are any additional instructions for a mod, those will be mentioned in the description page on their Nexus Mods link, but it’s mostly copy and pasting the files into the folder for most mods.
