Best Loadouts for Shooter Born in Heaven – Escape from Tarkov

The feeling of finishing this quest is always so surreal every wipe.

The Shooter Born in Heaven task from Mechanic is one of the hardest tasks in Escape from Tarkov. While the quest has evolved over several wipes due to its difficulty, the objective ended up being “eliminate 5 PMCs on each map with a headshot using a bolt-action rifle.” Without the 150-meter objective (required before). This opens up more weapon loadouts for players to use to finish the quest. Here are the best sniper rifles for Shooter Born in Heaven in Escape from Tarkov.

Best Snipers to Finish Shooter Born in Heaven in Escape from Tarkov

VPO-215 Bolt-Action Rifle

The VPO-215 Bolt-Action Rifle is one of the cheapest options for the quest. Since there’s always a big risk in using bolt-action rifles, some players prefer to use a cheap and effective loadout, and this is the perfect cheap weapon to finish the quest.

The VPO-215 has decent bullets that can penetrate early wipe helmets using the EKO. However, the AP-M bullets are the best. It can penetrate most helmets, and you can two-tap enemies to the chest/torso.

You can easily put a .366 suppressor and a scope of your choice without buying any additional attachments. You are looking at 60,000 Roubles on average to put a holographic sight and suppressor along with the default gun and ammunition. Players usually use a holographic sight since they want to push players instead of waiting for them, which makes the VPO-215 one of the best weapons for finishing Shooter Born in Heaven.

DVL-10 Bolt-Action Rifle

Regarding value-for-money weapons, the DVL-10 is the best for when you really want to play the “sniper” role. The base DVL-10 costs around 80,000 Roubles without the attachments, which is a bit expensive.

You can add any scope, but you must change the DVL-10 660mm barrel for the suppressor to a DVL-10 500mm barrel with the muzzle device to suppress the weapon. That means you’ll have to buy the DVL-10 500mm barrel, which could make the loadout more expensive, but you can also sell the DVL-10 660mm to the trader to recoup some money.

The DVL-10 is amazing because the M80s are very strong in the current meta. It has high velocity, so the bullet drop isn’t significant on targets 150 or more meters away. It can also easily penetrate class five armor and helmets, almost guaranteeing a headshot kill regardless of the helmet type they are using.

M700 Bolt-Action Rifle

The M700 is a decent alternative to the DVL-10 since it uses the same ammo. Mechanic Level 2 sells an awesome modded M700 for two Military Cables and five ES Lamps, which should be cheaper than building your DVL-10.

However, you will be stuck on using the Burris 1x-4x scope, and replacing it will make it more expensive than the DVL-10 setup. The ergonomics are quite bad, but at least you can use those 7.62×51 NATO ammo cheaply.

SV-98 Bolt-Action Rifle

The SV-98 offers an even more powerful bullet than the 7.62×51 NATO. It uses 7.62x54R, and using SNB and PS ammo may even one-tap enemies on the chest/torso. However, there are two default SV-98 weapons, and you want to use Jaeger’s OV version at level 3 for 78,973 Roubles.

This version has way more ergonomics, but you must still add a suppressor, scope, and maybe even a bipod. It could be the most expensive weapon on the list, but only if you get a little carried away when adding attachments.

If you don’t have PS or SNB ammo, LPS is also decent, but it is not worth it compared to the power you get from cheaper weapons like an M700 or a VPO-215.

Mosin Bolt-Action Rifle

One of the earliest sniper rifles given to you will be the Mosin rifle. A modded one can be bartered from Prapor level 1 with five D Batteries and eight AA Batteries. You might still need a Bramit suppressor, but this weapon is strong in the early wipe.

You can use SP-BT early in the wipe and move on to LPS when available. Most players use the Mosin without attachments and try to eliminate players up close. Using the Mosin makes you very mobile because it is extremely light.

The scope on the modded weapon is a bit atrocious, but you can’t really complain, considering how early you can use the weapon and how strong the bullets are in the early wipe. If you have access to other weapons on the list, you can skip the Mosin, but if you need something cheap and your level isn’t that high yet, this would be the go-to weapon for Shooter Born in Heaven.
