Best League Starter Builds in Path of Exile Secrets of the Atlas
Login!

It has been almost a year since Path of Exile 1’s Settlers of Kalguur league, and everyone must be rusty from that long hiatus. Even if you played the Phrecia event, it was still longer than what players were accustomed to.
However, there should also be an influx of more players coming from Path of Exile 2 who took a shot at it, and it is going to be a rough ride when you start building a new character in Path of Exile 1’s Secret of the Atlas league.
Here’s a rough compilation of some of the best and proven league starter builds for Path of Exile’s Secret of the Atlas.
Best Builds to Start the League with in Path of Exile Secrets of the Atlas
Deadeye Lightning Arrow
Fubgun’s Lightning Arrow
Lightning Arrow has been the go-to skill for most bow builds, and players love to use it for its mobility and fast-clearing capabilities. However, it does lack damage and gets really expensive to scale up to the endgame, but it is fun and much easier to understand, especially for a beginner.
Personally, I have always started with bow builds, particularly Lightning Arrow, Elemental Hit of the Spectrum, Toxic Rain, or even Rain of Arrows on league start, and it has always been a strong league starter build in every season for the last four or five years.
Hierophant Archmage Vortex
Waggle’s Archmage Vortex
Hierophant’s Archmage Vortex is an easy-to-use build that’s extremely tanky, has decent damage, and can clear bosses quickly without any heavy investment.
Like all Hierophant’s Archmage builds, you are stacking mana to scale your character. It is very easy to scale, but it can get expensive since all Archmage-type builds are almost fighting for the same pieces of gear. However, you’ll have an all-in-one build that can clear almost anything.
Berserker Volcanic Fissure of Snaking
Fubgun’s Volcanic Fissure
With the massive buffs for most melee builds during the Settlers of Kalguur league, some of the strongest melee builds will still stick around, and Volcanic Fissure of Snaking is there at the top.
It is extremely tanky with massive single-target damage and decent clearing speed. It is one of the strongest builds at the early tiers of mapping, and you’ll definitely see a lot of players use this build up to the endgame.
Power Siphon Archmage Ballista
Palsteron’s Archmage Power Siphon
Similar to how the Archmage Vortex above, this build capitalizes on Power Siphon instead of using Vortex. It has been a popular skill since Necropolis and has stayed strong in Settlers of Kalguur, with Trickster variants showing up.
Power Siphon clears any content easily, but it does require some heavy investment to scale to ubers.
Elementalist Lightning Conduit
Zizaran’s Lightning Conduit
Lightning Conduit has always been slept on since it was introduced, but it is mostly because it is a “two-button” build. You’ll have to use a skill to apply shock and bring them down using a Lightning Conduit, so you are always using two buttons to clear enemies.
However, it is easy to scale, and Elementalist is quite tanky in the early endgame because of its easy access to resistances and other survival nodes. The build can be tricky to use, so players unfamiliar with PoE 1 might find the build exhausting.
