One of the weapons that got hit the hardest in the Warzone Season 5 patch was the KG M40 assault rifle. This weapon was dominant for two seasons straight and needed multiple rounds of adjustment to phase it out of the top-tier rankings.
Despite the best efforts from Raven Software, the KG M40 has remained in the meta contenders for Season 5. Some of the base stats like minimum damage were nerfed and popular attachments were taken down a notch. With some loadout adjustments though, the KG is still a fantastic choice in the Warzone and this guide will lay out the attachments needed.
Warzone Season 5 – Best KG M40 Loadout
Compared to previous seasons, the current loadout for the KG M40 is fairly different. We need to compensate for a loss in damage and control while maintaining the focus on the long-range capabilities. You’ll find all ten attachments for the loadout below.
- Muzzle: MX Silencer
- Barrel: Residorf 720mm Shrouded
- Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled
- Rear Grip: Grooved Grip
- Stock: VDD 22G Padded
- Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
- Magazine: 8mm Klauser 60 Round Mags
- Ammunition: Lengthened
- Perk 1: Brace
- Perk 2: Fully Loaded
In Warzone Season 5, the MX Silencer is usually chosen over the Mercury Silencer for long-ranged assault rifles. Damage range and overall accuracy are the main draws for this muzzle attachment. Along with sound suppression and low negative cost, it’s an easy choice for any loadout.
Next, we need a barrel and in the new season, we still want the Reisdorf 720mm Shrouded. Yes, it had bullet velocity and control nerfed in every way. However, it went from unstoppable to really good, so it’s still the best barrel for a long-ranged loadout.

To support the KG M40 in Warzone Season 5, we need three more attachments that assist in stability and mobility. Both the Grooved Grip and the VDD 22G Padded stock will help with movement and aim walking speeds. Add the M1930 Strife Angled grip and you have a recipe for an AR with tons of control once again.
For the ammunition in this loadout, the 8mm Klauser 60 Round Mags are the best bet. They won’t have as much damage as other options, but the base damage is good enough and we won’t lose any additional control. Plus, 60 rounds is more than enough for a meta assault rifle. Add the Lengthened ammunition to the mix and you’re golden.
