Best Multiplayer Games to Play With the Family

Playing games with your family is the perfect way to spend time together. There are plenty of family fun to be had with the below list of games.

Tricky Towers

Tricky Towers is a tower-building game that can be played with up to four players locally, solo, or online. Players will compete against each other to build the tallest tower and complete different challenges while collecting unique power-ups that spice up gameplay. While balancing the towers may be more challenging for younger players, the controls are simple enough that they should be able to play with older family members.

Tricky Towers is available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

If you want to work together on something, then Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is the perfect game. It’s a puzzle game played best with two to four players. One person will be in charge of trying to defuse a bomb, and everyone else will try to help them through it by relaying the information in the instruction manual. The trick is that neither party can look at what the other is doing, so the bomb defuser can’t look at the manual and vice-versa.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is available on PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime

For a co-op game that takes you on more of an adventure, try Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. In this game, up to four people will work together to control a spaceship and defeat different aliens on their journey. While the beginning levels start relatively easy, this game can quickly become chaotic, with everyone needing to communicate to successfully control the different parts of your ship.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is available on Nintendo Switch, Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Human: Fall Flat

If you’re interested in a more light-hearted game, Human: Fall Flat may be for you. This game can be played with two players locally or up to eight online. Your overall goal is to solve unique puzzles on each of the levels. There are many solutions and lots to explore, making this a fairly replayable game. The controls may be tricky for younger kids, but the freedom to explore and play however you like will still appeal to them.

Human Fall Flat is available on Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and X/S, iOS, and Android.

Super Mario Party

One of the more well-known party games, Super Mario Party, is also great for families. You can support up to four players on one console or can play online. Snipperclips

A unique game, Snipperclips, is a cute puzzle game that can be played with up to four players on one console. Minecraft

If you’re looking for freedom to do whatever you want during your game nights, then Minecraft is the perfect option for you. This sandbox game has people navigating a block world where they can build, fight enemies, or just explore. In Survival mode, you’ll have to deal with enemy mobs who can hurt you. However, you can also switch to Creative mode which prevents them from causing damage and opens up all the crafting options. These customizable options make Minecraft a popular game choice for both young and old players.

Minecraft is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.

Super Mario Bros Wonder

Another Nintendo game, Super Mario Bros Wonder, is a 2D side-scrolling game with a mix of classic Super Mario style and new features. You can team up with up to three different players on the same console. Each person will pick their character and you’ll navigate the courses as a group. This game can vary in difficulty and some of the levels can be very challenging for younger players. However, older, or more skilled ones, can help those who are struggling by carrying them on their back as Yoshi.
