Best DG-58 Loadout and Class Setup in MW3

Burst assault rifles have quickly become some of the most powerful weapons, and in Modern Warfare 3, the DG-58 is the king of them all. I have the perfect loadout that you can build on your own burst to easily rip through the enemy team with one trigger pull.

Best Loadout for the DG-58 in Modern Warfare 3

• Barrel: DG-56 LS18 Barrel
• Underbarrel: XTEN Phantom-5 Handstop
• Rear Grip: Varanus Steady Grip
• Ammunition: 5.56 Nato High Grain
• Optic: MK. 3 Reflector

With Call of Duty’s burst weapons, I prioritize keeping the spread as accurate as possible. It’s also important to boost the weapon’s bullet velocity and damage range. The good news is that I can add those to the DG without having to add many adverse effects to the mobility at all. Even with some small ADS negatives, the Phantom Handstop will compensate for the loss and make the gun feel faster than before. Just watch out for a bit more horizontal recoil in the process.

Best Perks and Equipment for the DG-58 in MW3

• Vest: Infantry Vest
• Gloves: Assault Gloves
• Boots: Covert Sneakers
• Gear: Ghost T/V Camo or EOD Padding
• Tactical: Stim
• Lethal: Frag Grenade or Semtex
• Field Equipment: Trophy System
• Secondary: Renetti

As always, Covert Sneakers and Ghost are two of the best perks you can use for any class in the game. Pads for sliding and the EOD Padding are a great second option, though. This class should cover all your needs along with the Trophy System and equipment like the Frag Grenade. There won’t be any range you can’t control.

Best Alternative to the DG-58 in MW3

The FR 5.56 is the best alternative to the DG by far. There are only three true burst weapons in the game and the FR 5.56 is the second best. The M16 is a horrible weapon at this point and should be ignored. The FR 5.56 is essentially the Famas from the original MW2 and it plays similarly to the DG.

How to Unlock the DG-58 in Modern Warfare 3

You must reach level 25 and then complete three daily challenges in the Armory to unlock the DG-58 assault rifle. Make sure to activate the burst rifle in the Armory Unlocks before attempting to get all your dailies done, or else you’ll be wasting some hard-earned progress.
