Best Characters for the Nymph’s Dream Artifact Set in Genshin Impact

Dreams are usually far from perfection

One of the newcomers in Genshin Impact 3.6 was the Nymph’s Dream Artifact Set, obtained in the third Artifact Domain introduced in Sumeru. With a new Hydro set on the board, characters that don’t exactly appreciate the Heart of Depth set 4-piece effect might finally have a different option for a full set, right?! Right….?

While being another option for drowning your enemies away, the biggest value this new set has is probably in the possibilities created thanks to having another +15% Hydro Dmg piece available in a different domain. Time to learn more about them – here are the best characters for the Nymph’s Dream Artifact Set in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact – Nymph’s Dream Artifact Set Effects

Found in the Molten Iron Fortress domain at the Girdle of the Sand, Nymph’s Dream shares its drop chance with Vourukasha’s Glow. You cannot get it through Mystical Offering, but it will also be temporarily available through the Artifact Chests rewarded by clearing the Spyral Abyss.

Nymph’s DreamDescription
2-piece effect:Hydro DMG Bonus +15%
4-piece effect:After Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts hit opponents, 1 stack of Mirrored Nymph will be triggered, lasting 8s. When under the effect of 1, 2, or 3 or more Mirrored Nymph stacks, ATK will be increased by 7%/16%/25%, and Hydro DMG Bonus will be increased by 4%/9%/15%. Mirrored Nymph stacks created by Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts exist independently.

The full effect is best used on characters who naturally require a bigger field time, and a few examples immediately come to mind.

Best Characters for the Nymph’s Dream Artifact Set

1 – Childe

The 4-piece effect text reads very similarly to his own signature weapon, indicating that this was another set tailored especially for him. The man just doesn’t know when to stop winning! He’s able to easily reach full stacks without his Burst (his Skill damages enemies when activated), ensuring maximum damage for his biggest hit. That is, if you can ever land a single critical on that one.

2 – Kamisato Ayato

Contrary to Childe, Bursting with full stacks is harder with Ayato, and since his Burst snapshots, it will rarely receive full stacks bonuses. But when playing him as a main DPS, this is not such a big issue as your attacks will grow stronger with each hit, making a nice combo with his Skill’s passive.

3 – Sangonomiya Kokomi (On-field DPS)

While extremely niche, DPS Kokomi exists as an off-meta build and might just be the actual number 1 on this list. While the others in the list already had viable sets, this one boosts her the most given how her kit works when playing on-field. But such a build locks her out of her strongest role as a healer, so it cannot be considered the best one.

Honorable Mentions

The remaining Hydro characters are often played off-field. For that reason, they just don’t get enough value from this set since stacks are not obtained outside of the field. Many of them are very energy-hungry (Xingqiu, Yelan, Mona) and would prefer to use the full Emblem of Severed Fate set or a mix of 2 pieces of it + something else.

Is It Worth Farming For the Nymph’s Dream Artifact Set?

The set does offer a small DPS gain compared to Heart of Depth, so it’s very worth farming when first building a Hydro DPS or just min-maxing. But if you already have strong pieces on Childe or Ayato, just stick with those instead of farming a whole new set. It’s just too painful to do that all over again. Heart of Depth can also be obtained from Mystical Offering, making it way easier to obtain/get better pieces.

The best use for this set might come from its 2-piece effect, which can be stacked with another 2-piece Hydro% to make for a more-than-great build for various Hydro characters. Particularly, the same domain drops Vourukasha’s Glow which offers +20% HP, another very desirable stat for many Hydro characters. While Yelan loves the aforementioned Emblem set, the 2-pc Hydro% + 2-pc HP% combination also suits her very well, for example.

Considering how the next region’s element is Hydro, this set will probably gain more value with the upcoming characters for this element. People speculate that it might be the Hydro Archon’s best set released ahead of herself, but there’s no way to know it for sure by now, so no point in farming it ahead.
