Assassin’s Creed Shadows Pre-load Available on Xbox

Lucky Xbox owners!

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is still a few weeks away from launch, but as usual, Xbox has dibs on its pre-load while every other platform waits for a later date. The game is now up for pre-load on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Pre-load on Xbox

Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S users can now pre-load Assassin’s Creed Shadows on their consoles. It’s a whopping 107 GB download, but there is plenty of time to download the title ahead of its launch later this month. This is about the same size listed for the PC version, and we expect the same for the PS5 version as well.

Xbox users usually get to pre-load upcoming titles way earlier than other platforms, which is the same case for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. For PlayStation 5 users, the pre-load will be available on March 17, or March 18, 2025. We expect a similar date for the PC version as well. Since none of the editions give you early access this time, players can expect to play simultaneously.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Release Date

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is coming to PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect, and Xbox Series S|X and the PS5 on March 20, 2025.

The game is available to pre-order on all platforms and is part of the Ubisoft+ Premium subscription on PC. This will give players the Digital Deluxe Edition at launch, which they can keep accessing as long as they’re subscribed to the service. There’s also a neat Collector’s Edition worth checking out.

It has been delayed several times over the past few months, and we hope it makes this release. PC players will be glad to know that Ubisoft games are now finally coming on day one to Steam again, starting with Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Several past releases have slowly made their way to the platform as well, and Ubisoft has been adding Steam achievements to existing Steam releases like Far Cry 4.

We hope that Ubisoft shares the preload details for other platforms as well, so more players have the chance to be ready at launch.
