While exploring the Greek isles in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, players will come across a series of documents called Ainigmata Ostraka. These collectibles contain riddles that lead to hidden treasure somewhere nearby or within the same region. Solving the Ainigmata Ostraka riddles reward you with Engraving recipes, which can be used to enhance your weapons and armor with special buffs.
There are two parts to solving each Ainigmata Ostraka. First you have to find the document that contains the riddle, then you must find the hidden loot that the riddle points to. This guide will explain how to solve each Ainigmata Ostraka found on the Kephallonia Islands and where to find their treasure in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Kephallonia
There are three Ainigmata Ostraka on the starter island of Kephallonia: Ashes to Ashes, Bottomless Lake, and Fatal Attraction.
Ashes to Ashes Ainigmata Ostraka
Location: The Ashes to Ashes Ainigmata Ostraka is found at Markos’s Vinyard in Kephallonia, just south of the huge statue of Zeus. Search the second level of the barn on the east side of the vineyard to find the document.
Solution: The Ashes to Ashes riddle leads to the burnt Village of Kausos, which is located on the shore to the south of Mount Ainos. Find the structure that resembles a shrine and has four pillars out front. Enter the building to collect the treasure on the burnt pile of debris.
Bottomless Lake Ainigmata Ostraka
Location: The Bottomless Lake Ainigmata Ostraka is found deep in the waters of Melissani Cave, to the northeast of the Zeus statue at Mount Ainos. Dive into the hole and swim down to find the document.
Solution: To solve the Bottomless Lake riddle, make your way to the Coast of Koliadai and locate Lake Abythos. Dive down into the lake and look for a statue submerged underwater several feet down. Interact with the statue to collect the Engraving and solve the riddle.
Fatal Attraction Ainigmata Ostraka
Location: The Fatal Attraction Ainigmata Ostraka document is found in Odysseus’s Palace, the huge set of ruins on the south side of Ithaka. Use Ikaros to search the north end of the palace to spot the document.
Solution: The riddle on the Fatal Attraction Ainigmata Ostraka points toward a goat farm located on the north end of Ithaka. From Odysseus’s Palace, head north until you reach a small group of farm houses. Search the goat corpse on the front table to solve the puzzle and earn a new Engraving.
