Fortnite Battle Royale has been the leader when it comes to high-profile crossovers with other entertainment franchises. The latest significant crossover to take place in the battle royale title was with Star Wars to celebrate the release of the series’ newest movie. This Star Wars crossover saw a great deal of content be added to the popular game, which included lightsabers. However, the current status of these lightsabers is up in the air for many players. Fortunately, we have everything you need to know regarding if Lightsabers are still in the title covered for you.

Are Lightsabers Still in Fortnite?

Unfortunately, players who enjoyed destroying their opponents with the iconic weapons of the Jedi and Sith can no longer do so. The reason for this is that developer Epic Games implemented a hotfix on Tuesday, January 7th, that removed the powerful weapons from the title.

The reaction to the removal of the lightsabers will likely receive mixed responses from the community, as some enjoyed the high-octane action the blades could provide. Others, however, thought that these weapons were too powerful and upset the balance of the battle royale game too much. 

There are sure to be plenty of memories that have been made though for Star Wars fans who enjoy playing the famous game, as it allowed them to combine two of their favorite franchises in what was one of the biggest crossovers ever to take place in pop-culture.
