Players who are interested in finding and catching this fish during the month of May will need to make their way to a pond, as this is the location on your island where this particular aquatic creature will be found. This fish has a medium to large shadow size, so players will want to keep a lookout for shadows that fit in this size range and cast at them if they’re going to have the best chance of catching the Catfish during their fishing adventures.

This particular creature will spawn between the hours of 4 PM and 9 AM, so individuals will have to set aside dedicated time during this specific portion of the day to have a chance of encountering and catching the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Catfish. Players will see that the Catfish will be in the game until October.

Unfortunately, players in the South Hemisphere will not have the ability to encounter and catch this particular fish during May, as it will only be appearing in the Northern Hemisphere during this time of year.

This fish can be sold for a total of 800 Bells, making it one of the least valuable ones in the game. Players will be able to improve their financial situation by a great deal if they can catch and sell many of these fish, so players should do their best to gather a decent amount of them if they wish to get a large number of Bells when selling the Catfish.

You can find all of the additional fish that will be coming to the title in May in our comprehensive guide. Players can also see all of the fish that left the game with the end of April in our additional guide.
