Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Can You Craft Any Items In Bulk?

Short answer: no. Sorry.

Long answer: no, and we’d pay for that particular DLC in a hot minute, but there are a couple of options.

One is, of course, to get together with all of your friends and mass-produce whatever items you may end up needing over the course of the next week or so. Put on a movie, farm up the ingredients, and spend a lovely evening at home making a couple of hundred axes for your Animal Crossing buddies. (That’s just an example, but you’ll need to break a hundred of these things to unlock the DIY recipe for the golden axe, so you might as well get ahead of the game.) Many hands make light work, after all.

The other is simpler, and doesn’t require any degree of social coordination. New Horizons doesn’t mention this anywhere, but you can tap the A button during your character’s crafting animation to speed it up dramatically. You have to tap; just holding down A doesn’t work.

By default, crafting anything at a workbench takes about five seconds before your character does the ol’ Legend of Zelda spin-and-show with your new item, but by mashing on A, you can cut that down to as little as 2 seconds.

It doesn’t sound like much, but it really cuts down on the overall time that you spend making replacement tools or fish bait.

Personally, in my Animal Crossing: New Horizons house, I could wallpaper the place with my dozens of broken fishing rods. Actually, that gives me an idea for a new wallpaper pattern. Share your own questionable choices in interior decoration with us via our official Twitter, @PrimaGames.
