All Totem Of Defiance Pieces Locations in Avowed

Each of the four regions of Avowed contains a Totem that provides players with several passive bonuses when activated, but is broken up into several pieces we must put back together. Here are all of the locations for the Totem Of Defiance pieces in Avowed.

How to Find Totem Of Defiance Pieces in Avowed

There are seven pieces of the Totem Of Defiance that Avowed players can find in the second area of Emerald Stair. Players can immediately search and acquire almost every piece in any order once reaching the region.

Once you find all seven Totem Of Defiance pieces, you need to assemble them at any Party Camp on the rock next to the fire. This will activate all passive bonuses associated with the pieces. Here is how to find every piece:

Idol of Violent Rebellion

The Idol of Violent Rebellion is located at the Ranger Headquarters in the eastern section of Emerald Stair. It is northeast of the Fior Southern Gate Beacon. The piece is on top of the Ranger’s tower. Move to the side of the tower where a ladder is visible on the wall and climb up to it using the stack of barrels. It will take some platforming around the tower, but the piece is at the very top of the tower.

Sacrificial Dagger

The Sacrificial Dagger is located at the Abandoned Farms area north of Fior mes Ivèrno. Walk behind the building second to the right where you will find a note hanging on the wall. The piece is keeping the note stuck to the wall.

Idol of Covert Plots

The Idol of Covert Plots is located at the Grim Wetlands in northwest Emerald Stair. Players can take the Plateau Junction Beacon fast travel point and travel north until they arrive at an abandoned house. Approach the house from the top of the hill and you will find an opening in the roof. Drop down through the opening to find the piece at the altar.

Totem Base

The Totem Base is located at Shrine to Skaen in the west of Emerald Stair. Players can take the Plateau Junction Beacon fast travel point and walk southwest until coming up to a craggy hillside with grabbable ledges. Climb up the hillside and the Totem Base can be found at its own altar at the top.

Obsidian Prayer Beads

The Obsidian Prayer Beads are located in The Delemgan Glade in western Emerald Stair. Players will have to cross a bridge that is half tree and half manmade. Follow the path until you reach a circular arena.

There will be an incline on the right that takes you to the far end of the area and a large tree growing through the structure and rocks. Climb up the horizontal tree and take the rocky path to the piece.

Idol of Secret Hatred

The Idol of Sacred Hated is located at the Ancient Grotto in the southwest of Emerald Stair. This cave is its own area away from the overworld. Enter and follow the path until coming to a larger room with a few pathways.

Take the stairs going down and jump across the room with the poisonous water. There are plenty of objects and trees to avoid the damaging water. You will come across a larger room with multiple paths, so take the hole in the wall next to the green light on the left. The piece will be at the end of the path next to a skeleton.

Effigy Necklace

The Effigy Necklace is located at Naku Tedek, which is on the Naku Tedek Grounds island in southwest Emerald Stair. It is just across the bridge from the Ancient Grotto. The door to the cave is in the middle of the island next to the merchants.

However, you will not be able to go any further inside until the Ancient Soil main quest mission. During the mission, another character will open up a secret passage by the large Adra to go further down. Go down the spiral staircase and take the left where the locked door is.

Use an electric spell or grenade on the box nearby to open the door. The next room will have a horizontal tree over a pool of water. Use frost magic or a grenade to create a walkable path over the water and climb up the tree. The piece will be on the platform above the tree.
