Back when Pokemon used to release a third, enhanced version of their regular pair of main titles, those would usually come with a brand-new Pokedex, born from a mix of what you’ve seen in both previous entries. These choices made Pokemon Platinum one of the best games to truly catch’em all. You still need to trade with both other games for the full Dex, but the struggle was greatly lessened.
The Platinum Pokedex also made some of the Pokemon you would previously only encounter after beating the Elite Four appear way earlier. No more waiting for your free Eevee! New evolutions for Pokemon introduced in previous generations (Gallade, Magnezone, etc) were also added to the Sinnoh Dex, so take a look at the full list of Pokemon in the Platinum Pokedex.
All Pokemon Obtainable in the Platinum Pokedex Listed
There are 210 Pokemon in the Regional Pokedex in Pokemon Platinum. If you happen to miss any Pokemon you know were introduced in Gen IV (such as Arceus), that’s because they’re included in the expanded national Dex, which goes up to 491 Pokemon.
