What Are Official Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Similar to its predecessor, Dragon’s Dogma 2 uses the Pawn system. You can hire NPCs all around the game to join your party as Pawns, each with their own Vocation and abilities. These NPCs range from random characters found in villages, the exact same Pawns from your friends, or even the Official Pawns, special pre-generated Pawns made by official content creators.

You can hire these Pawns directly from the menu in the Rift, and they have certain peculiarities when compared to regular ones, such as only being available for a certain time. Some of them are region-locked or platform-locked (sometimes both), with Steam having the most Pawns available. Invited content creators are mostly known in the community for their work in previous Capcom titles (not necessarily the first Dragon’s Dogma), but we also have some outliers.

Their names have a different color from the usual Pawns and they have no Rift Crystal cost for hiring up until Level 10. Their equipped items cannot be changed either, so they’re aimed toward the early/mid-game portions of the campaign when your equipment shouldn’t be as strong just yet. They’re also not included in rankings.

All Official Pawns in Dragons Dogma 2

There are initially 22 different Official Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2. According to Capcom, more waves of Official Pawns could be included in the future. Some creators haven’t fully announced their Pawns’ specifications yet, but we’ll update this page as soon as they do. Below are all of their respective names, vocations, and platforms.

And as previously mentioned, you can just go with a friend’s Pawn instead if you don’t like the idea of using a famous person as your battlemate. Grabbing your friend’s creation is the closest thing we can get to multiplayer in the game, so it might be the right call for you.
