The marquee addition for Overcooked’s PS5 debut is of course a 4K glow up, bumping up this popular title to a level of fidelity it definitely wasn’t before. Publisher Team 17 also confirmed that Overcooked has been rebuilt with its sequel’s engine, bringing online multiplayer to the first game’s levels. Not only that, but this version will feature cross-platform play. And it’s a PS5 game, so you know those load times are gonna be a lot better.

Now here’s the really interesting part. Overcooked is a popular group game, but it isn’t always considered a great party game. Making your way through all those hazardous kitchens can be stressful, especially if you’re gunning for stars. So for Overcooked: All You Can Eat, the team is adding options to make the experience easier if players want, as well as making it more accessible. Assist Mode will include options like more lenient timers, level skips, and more. A number of accessibility options are also in the works, including UI scaling, “dyslexia-friendly” text, and settings for color blind players.

As you can see, Overcooked: All You Can Eat is more than a simple port to bring Overcooked to the next generation. There’s a lot of new stuff! But in addition to the features and options, Overcooked: All You Can Eat will also come with new content such as new levels and chefs. We don’t have further details, but the launch is planned for 2020 so we’ll likely learn more in the coming months.

Overcooked has been a great, family-friendly series with multiplayer options. If you’re looking for more like it, check out some other games hanging out in this space:
