It’s officially October which means there’s a host of new fish and bugs to catch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you’re new to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the new fish and bugs will differ depending on whether your island is based in the Northern Hemisphere or the Southern Hemisphere.

All New October Fish in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

As noted above, the new fish you’re able to catch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons depends on whether you’re in the Northern Hemisphere or the Southern Hemisphere. Fish can be caught in rivers, ponds, and the ocean, you can also acquire sea creatures by diving in the ocean.

  • Seaweed | All Day, Ocean Diving, 600 Bells
  • Spiny Lobster | 9pm until 4am, Ocean Diving, 5,000 Bells
  • Venus’ Flower Basket | All Day, Ocean Diving, 5,000 Bells
  • Yellow Perch | All Day, River, Medium Shadow, 300 Bells

Southern Hemisphere | New October Fish in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

  • Butterfly Fish | All Day, Sea, Small Shadow, 1,000 Bells
  • Clownfish | All Day, Sea, Small Shadow, 650 Bells
  • Crawfish | All Day, Pond, Small Shadow, 200 Bells
  • Guppy | 9am until 4pm, River, Small Shadow, 1,300 Bells
  • Killifish | All Day, Pond, Small Shadow, 300 Bells
  • Lobster | All Day, Ocean Diving, 4,500 Bells
  • Neon Tetra | 9am until 4pm, River, Small Shadow, 500 Bells
  • Sea Horse | All Day, Sea, Small Shadow, 1,100 Bells
  • Snapping Turtle | 9pm until 4am, River, Large Shadow, 5,000 Bells
  • Surgeonfish | All Day, Sea, Small Shadow, 1,000 Bells
  • Zebra Turkeyfish | All Day, Sea, Medium Shadow, 500 Bells

As you can tell, the Southern Hemisphere has more new additions than the Northern Hemisphere, though it’s exciting to be able to dive for things like the Venus’ Flower Basket and Spiny Lobster in the Northern Hemisphere now.
