WWE 2K24 is bringing the heat this year, with a few new modes that are bound to make fans jump out of their seats. Let’s see what we can look forward to in this new edition of the annual sports franchise, and why it matters.
All New Gameplay Modes in WWE 2K24
With WWE 2K23 adding in the War Games mode last year, the team at Visual Concepts and 2K needed to step things up and make the stakes higher than ever — introducing the Gauntlet mode, which will pit you against up to 30 players in one of the most customizable modes in the series history. Change every detail that you’d like, place your wrestler where you’d want them in the lineup, and get ready to lay the smackdown on some of your least favorite wrestlers. The best part? You can use your Persona Cards in this mode, alongside all other modes in the game.
One of the most exciting additions to the game is the re-introduction of the Special Guest Referee mode which has been one of the most requested additions to the game since its last appearance generations ago. Stepping into the shoes of the Ref, it’ll be up to you on how quickly you count if you want to turn a blind eye to aggressive rage, and everything in between. It keeps the action feeling fresh and exciting, especially since you’re the one in control of it all.
The Casket Match is another new addition to the frankly overwhelming number of options that players can partake in, with the main goal requiring one wrestler to lock another inside of a casket that is ringside. After dealing enough damage, toss your opponent into the casket and get ready for a fast-tapping mini-game that will help you seal the deal — and their fate.
Finally, we’ve got the Ambulance Mode that works very similarly to the Casket Match. You’ll need to bring the pain to your opponent and send them out on a stretcher — literally. Open up the Ambulance Doors and toss your opponent inside to win this match and take home the victory, but watch out because they’ll fight back when you try to lock them up.
You’ll also find retooled and retouched MyRISE, MyFACTION, MyUNIVERSE, and MyGM modes available in this package, making it one of the most feature-rich sports games on the market. As the team continues adding new modes and features, we can hardly wait for next years offering already.
