All Materials Required for Ascending Cyno in Genshin Impact

Back so soon?

We almost didn’t even get time to miss him, but heads up, Cyno is already back on the scene for his second banner. Not really sure if this is meant to be a throwaway or an attempt to get people to have another chance at Cyno, but one must digress. For those who missed out on him the first time around, dance for joy and join us as we take a quick reminder of what items he’s going to need for ascension in Genshin Impact.

Cyno Ascension Materials in Genshin Impact: The Electro Regisvine

Remember that time when everyone thought Scaramouche was going to require the Regisvine drops? Wild days. Although expectations for this boss may have gone the wayside, it is still an important boss for Cyno and an easy place to gather what you need for this Electro Polearm. The Electro Regisvine has a nasty habit of placing its Core in various places, in the bud of its flowers and in its roots, sometimes requiring the player to bash some of the shards and seeds that pop up around them to further disorientate the Boss. Here, you’ll collect the Thunderclap Fruitcore as well as the batch of gems known as Vajrada Amethyst.

For his Sumeru-exclusive materials, we’re back in the desert to hunt down some Scarabs. They can be tricky to find, but as mobs, they respawn every day, and if you dedicate your time to hunting them down for a few days, then you’re sure to have plenty for when Cyno comes home. They tend to be found around ruins, but your best bet is going to be a guide or to have Tighnari on your team. Tighnari has a helpful Passive where he’ll be able to help you out in your exploration if he’s on the party. His ability will indicate on the mini-map where Sumeru-exclusive items are placed, so when you are running around in the right general area, Tighnari’s ability will help you find the next available one or hunt it down when looking.

The last item that Cyno is going to need are Scrolls that drop from Samachurls, tiny little guys with powerful magic that can be found among the Hilichurl camps. These guys are so prominent everywhere in Teyvat that they can be found with a hop, skip, and a step, but if you want to avoid running around in circles, look no further than your Adventurer’s Journal. You know it, you’ve seen it, the Adventurer’s Journal recounts all of the enemies that you have come across previously, and looking up their page in your diary will show information about them, including their drops. Clicking Navigate will lead you around the map of where the largest groups of them are going to be found to make it much easier for you to grind out the required number of Scrolls you’ll need. Every time you defeat a group, the mini-map will change indicators to lead you to the next largest batch, and you’re free to hunt until you’re sick of it or have collected enough.

  • x1 Vajrada Amethyst Sliver, x9 Vajrada Amethyst Fragment, x9 Vajrada Amethyst Chunk, x6 Vajrada Amethyst Gemstone
  • X46 Thunderclap Fruitcore
  • X168 Scarabs
  • x18 Divining Scroll, x30 Sealed Scroll, x36 Forbidden Curse Scroll

Genshin Impact Cyno Talent Level Up Materials

Having released so early with Tighnari and Candace, Cyno was and is one of the troublesome large groups of characters that require Admonition. This particular Talent becomes available at the Steeple of Ignorance every Monday and Thursday, with all of the Talents available to farm on Sundays. Alongside the Talent Books, Cyno is going to need more Scrolls from the Samachurls; luckily, these mobs are found just about anywhere. And true to any character, once he reaches Level Six, he’s going to need some more advanced drops in order to level up more of his Branches.

The Boss he needs is in Inazuma, which is a bit farther than Sumeru, but it helps not to require all of the World Boss Mats from the Challenge in Sumeru. From the Guardian of Eternity Challenge, Cyno needs the Mudra of the Malefic General in order to ascend his later Talent Levels. Few World Boss materials are required for the branches, but they can be quite the tricky drop to collect when most of the World Bosses can drop around four, yet it’ll be completely random which one you end up with. For that, it can help to visit your Alchemy station every other time in order to transfigure some of the materials that you have in your possession. Along with the World Boss Drops, you should also be getting items called Dream Solvent. This particular item can transform your Boss Material from one into another, saving you a bit of time if you are strictly grinding for one particular drop.

Ascension Materials Needed for ONE Branch (With Crown)

  • x3 Teachings of Admonition, x21 Guide to Admonition, x38 Philosophies of Admonition
  • x6 Divining Scroll, x21 Sealed Scroll, x31 Forbidden Curse Scroll
  • x6 Mudra of the Malefic General
  • x1 Crown of Insight
