Thank God for sticky notes!

The Lake House expansion for Alan Wake 2 is now finally out, and with it, a return to the survival horror tone of the base game. This means players will do all the usual survival horror activities like shooting enemies in the knees and finding all sorts of key cards to unlock specific doors. In addition, there are a bunch of computers scattered around The Lake House, which are password-protected but contain valuable gossip between the facilities employees. Here are all the passwords for the computers found in Alan Wake 2 The Lake House.

Computer Passwords in Alan Wake 2 The Lake House

Here are all the computer passwords found in Alan Wake 2: The Lake House.

Computer LocationPassword
Ground Level – Dr. Jules Marmont’s Computer071838
Lake House Level -2 123456
Lake House Level -2 – Security Computer220925
Lake House Level -1 021219
Lake House Level -4685298

Some passwords can be inputted differently as long as the first four digits correspond to a date. For example, 0718 refers to July 18, but so does 1807. So either input the passwords as mentioned above or shift around the date format if it makes more sense.

Now, we’ll explain the reasoning for each password.

Ground Level – Dr. Jules Marmont’s Computer

The first computer can be found on the ground level where you first enter The Lake House. The password is 071838, and it’s a combination of the following hints:

  • The first part of the password is either 0718, or 1807. Both refer to the date, July 18, when the Lake House facility was completed. This date can be found on the “Notice of Appointment” in Dr. Jules Marmont’s office.
  • The second part of the password is 38. This refers to Hedy Lamarr’s age, which is written on the “Science Fact of the Day” on Dr. Marmont’s desk.

Lake House Level -2

This is a simple one because the password is written on a sticky note and pasted on the monitor. It’s also the most basic password in the world: 123456

Lake House Level -2 – Security Computer

This is one of the trickier passwords to break down, and multiple hints are provided for it. The password is 220925, and here is why:

  • On one of the computers in the level 2 clearance room right next to the computer, there’s an email that says that the password is “our SPECIAL UNFORGETTABLE ANNIVERSARY” plus “Brown Shape with Horns
  • Next to the computer, we can see a document that says that a reservation has been made a week from this Friday.
  • We can see the Calendar in the room to confirm that a week from this Friday is September 22
  • Finally, the “Brown Shape with Horns” refers to one of the entries in the document next to the password-protected computer.

Combining these clues results in 220925 (22nd September + 25)

Lake House Level -1

This is another easy one, and a sticky note can be zoomed into while aiming towards the monitor. The password for the computer in Lake House Level -1 is 021219. Bonus points for the cat!

Lake House Level -4

Finally, the last password is conveniently written down on a sticky note and pasted on the monitor as well.

These are all the computers in The Lake House facility, and we can all agree that they don’t have any sense of privacy. That’s great for us because unlocking all five computers using the passwords will unlock the Hard Work achievement in Alan Wake 2 The Lake House.
