After over thirteen years since its initial release, Alan Wake will finally be receiving a sequel, which was officially revealed at the most recent PlayStation Showcase. The newest trailer for Alan Wake II detailed the game’s platforms, as well as its 2023 release date. Here is everything we know about the latest Alan Wake entry, including when the game will launch, its playable platforms, and the story/premise.

Alan Wake II is set to release on October 17, 2023. The highly anticipated survival horror title will certainly help many gamers celebrate the lead-up to Halloween 2023.

Alan Wake II is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. As of this writing, there are currently no plans for a Nintendo Switch release, nor for the previous generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Alan Wake II will reportedly feature dual protagonists, including an FBI Agent named Saga Anderson, as well as the series’ titular character. According to the game’s lengthy, eerie description, “A string of ritualistic murders threatens Bright Falls, a small-town community surrounded by Pacific Northwest wilderness. Saga Anderson, an accomplished FBI agent with a reputation for solving impossible cases arrives to investigate the murders. Anderson’s case spirals into a nightmare when she discovers pages of a horror story that starts to come true around her. Alan Wake, a lost writer trapped in a nightmare beyond our world, writes a dark story in an attempt to shape the reality around him and escape his prison. With a dark horror hunting him, Wake is trying to retain his sanity and beat the devil at his own game.”
